This morning Harry and Meghan attended the Giant of Africa Foundation — Dream Big Basketball clinic held at the Ilupeju Grammar School in Lagos.
Below the couple receives a warm welcome at the airport.
Giant of Africa is a charity dedicated to empowering youth across the continent.

In a heartwarming moment, Meghan received her first public Mother’s Day wishes from former NBA star Masai Ujiri, the Vice-Chairman and President of Giants of Africa. As he acknowledged Meghan and all mothers present, the significance of balancing dedication to service with the love for family resonated deeply.

“We are inspired by the youth and they will continue to be leaders and they will change Africa. Africa is already changing,” Ujiri said. “We use sports to try to make some more change. It improves peace, it brings people together and brings incredible gatherings like this.”

Taking the microphone, Harry praised the work of Giants of Africa —
“What you guys are doing here at Giants of Africa is truly amazing,” he said. “Specifically with sport. The power of sport can change lives. It brings people together and creates community and there are no barriers which is the most important thing. It’s wonderful to see each and every one of you here today, sitting on this court. I know you’re ready to go. And we’re going to get those balls going and you’re going to show us how good you are.”
Meghan and Harry are presented personalized t-shirts. Masai commended the royal couple for inspiring young kids in Africa through sports.
The partnership between the Sussexes’ Archewell Foundation and Giants of Africa underscores their shared vision for empowering young people through sport, particularly basketball.

For Meghan, the event held a special significance, evoking memories of her time in Toronto, where she first learned about Giants of Africa.

“Talk about full circle again,” she said. “Never did I think we would be able to be here all those years later supporting the expansion of this incredible organization. We’re so grateful and proud of all the work that you’re doing.”
Meghan then thanked everyone who helped organize the event and the media who were covering it before turning to players and saying, “We can’t wait to see you play.”
Later the couple will attend a polo fundraiser for Nigeria: Unconquered and a cultural reception.
Our look at what Meghan wore for this morning’s event.

The Duchess wore the Aso-Oke traditional wrap that was gifted to her at yesterday’s reception. Aso-Oke fabric is a hand-woven cloth created by the Yoruba people of Nigeria. The piece was crafted by Regaliabyfal – see their Instagram post below.
Her white button-down is from Carolina Herrera (as reported by People magazine). We are unsure of the exact style she wore from the designer. Below we show the current style — Button-down Collared Shirt, $590.

Meghan wore a pair of shoes we have not seen in some time! Her Burberry Prorsum ‘Berkeley’ bow sandals in snakeskin gold and satin.

She wore the shoe back in 2013 for a number of events — (left to right) Meghan at the Novak Djokovic Foundation gala dinner, September 2013 and again at NY Fashion Week, Jeremy Scott Fashion Show, September 2013.

Meghan at the MuchMusic Video Award in Toronto, June 2013.
Meghan brought back her Heidi Merrick – the ‘Santa Barbara’ style, $215. She first wore the sunglasses while in Texas for the couple’s visit to a local restaurant.

She wore her vintage Lanvin couture clip-on earrings with amethyst and citrine crystals again today. We saw her wear these n Friday.

Meghan has on a disc pendant necklace. It is her Ariel Gordon ‘Imperial’ Disc Pendant Necklace, starting at $1770, with Archie and Lili’s names engraved on it. She first wore the piece for her birthday in August 2023.

The Duchess once again is wearing the same bracelets she’s been wearing the past few days. Ariel Gordon ‘Hex’ bracelet and her Lorraine Schwartz, the Against Evil Eye Five Eye Diamond Pave Bracelet, $18,500 — her staple pieces, Diana’s gold Cartier Tank watch and Cartier ‘Love’ bracelet and the unidentified beaded bangle. She may also be wearing her Shaun Leane ‘Sabre’ bangle in yellow gold vermeil and diamond pave, $1790, again today as well.

We will be back shortly with our second post today, followed by a polo fundraiser and finally there will be a reception that the couple are attending later this afternoon.

Happy Mother’s Day to all who celebrate!

Meghan always looks great in anything she wears. Being tall and elegant also she wears very high heels. I was Glad that she wore clothes gifted to her by the people and gown(s) made be Nigerian designer (s). Both the Duke and Duchess showed great respect for their host/Nigerians. A very great visit. Loved the pictures. Thanks
You can’t go wrong with a good white blouse. Absolutely love that skirt.
I think the shoe choice is interesting, as well as it being a great shoe. Because it is a rewear from a while ago, the photos from the previous events are found and reposted as part of the coverage. In this case, those photos remind people of the events Meghan attended and the work she did independently before she met Prince Harry. In a similar way, when Meghan and Kate wear pieces from Diana’s collection, the subsequent coverage pulls up photos of Diana wearing them, which keeps her image circulating in a positive way. To me this was by far the best outfit of the trip, it brought together all the different elements at play there this week.
Love that her husband stands and supports her no matter what she has on. Her ancestors I want to believe are praising God for bringing their child home and boldly wearing what they might have worn long, long ago. God bless Prince Harry and Megan, protect them and give them long and happy lives with their lovely children.
Beautiful outfit! It’s something thqt screams Meghan with the white button-down, but I love the significance of her skirt! Her ancestors would be proud to see their daughter come home!
I love this outfit- the symbolism of the cloth is cool, so I love learning about that, thank you L. I think the outfit looks great- fresh, modern, stylish- gorgeous combo!
Meghan’s skirt is made of aso oke fabric. Aso oke means “top cloth” in English, denoting cloth of high status. It’s really special that wore this. Not only did she wear cloth that she was given as a gift in Nigeria, she’s wearing cloth that is truly fit for a princess. Love it!
I don’t believe that a plain white shirt was the right choice with this skirt. Any thoughts?
Black would have been nice, too.
I love that she wore what was gifted to her by her host country.
