Tonight #VaxLive – The Concert to Reunite the World aired on ABC and CBS in the United States as well as Global Citizen’s YouTube account.
Meghan wore Caroline Herrera for her appearance.
Meghan and Harry served as campaign chairs of the event which was recorded at SoFi Arena, Los Angeles, California on Sunday, May 3.
The concert brought together artists, entertainers, and world leaders to “encourage Global Citizens to take action and demand wealthier nations share doses of the COVID-19 vaccine to low-income countries that are struggling to access them.”
Jennifer Lopez kicked off the show.
Harry then took the stage to a standing ovation and spoke about the need for vaccine equity around the world.
“None of us should be comfortable with thinking we can be fine when so many others are suffering…We must look beyond ourselves, with empathy and compassion for those we know, and those we don’t.” — Prince Harry, #VaxLive
See the standing ovation for Harry and his speech below.
Selena Gomez, this evening’s host, spoke about the importance of getting vaccinated and thanked frontline workers who are fighting to keep communities safe.
“Many of us got to stay home. You didn’t have a choice.”
A number of world leaders joined the cause including, Justin Trudeau, Pedro Sanchez (Prime Minter of Spain), Jacinda Ardern (Prime Minter of New Zealand), Emmanuel Macron (President of France) and President Joe Biden with First Lady Jill Biden.
Below President Biden’s speech recorded prior to the event.
As of tonight’s broadcast, Global citizen reported that over $302M in funding has been raised and 26M COVID-19 vaccines have been secured.
Global Citizen shared this behind-the-scenes clip of Harry backstage.
For Harry’s second appearance of the evening, he spoke of the desperate need for the vaccine in South Africa and introduced Nomzamo Mbatha, who is a South African actress, television personality, businesswoman and human rights activist
We saw performances from musical artists Eddie Veder (Pearl Jam), H.E.R., Korean group NCT 127, Foo Fighters and more.
Below, H.E.R. performs outside the arena.
Meghan made her appearance via a pre-recorded video message from the couple’s Montecito, California home towards the end of the program.
The Duchess focused on the impact of the pandemic on women and girls.
“The past year has been defined by communities coming together tirelessly and heroically to tackle COVID-19. And we’ve gathered tonight because the road ahead is getting brighter, but it’s going to take every one of us to find our way forward.”
“As campaign chairs of VAX Live, my husband and I believe it’s critical that our recovery prioritizes the health, safety and success of everyone – particularly women who have been disproportionately affected by this pandemic. Women, and especially women of color, have seen a generation of economic gain wiped out. Since the pandemic began, nearly 5.5 million women have lost work in the U.S., and 47 million more women around the world are expected to slip into extreme poverty.”
Meghan included how meaningful all of this is as she and Harry look forward to welcoming their daughter later this Spring.
“My husband and I are thrilled to soon be welcoming a daughter. It’s a feeling of joy we share with millions of other families around the world. When we think of her, we think of all the young women and girls around the globe who must be given the ability and support to lead us forward.”

Now a quick look at what Meghan wore for this evening’s event.
credit: Global Citizen
The Duchess wore a Carolina Hererra Floral-Print Shirt Dress ($1690) in red and pink. The dress is also available at FarFetch and My Theresa.
The dress is 100% silk and described as a paprika-red with an all-over floral motif with a belted waist and concealed front button fastening.
The floral print is also available in a blouse ($990) and chiffon wide-leg pants ($1990).
UPDATE 5/9: Awe Inspired has confirmed with us that Meghan wore their Woman Power Charm Necklace ($140) in 18k gold vermeil with a stationary bale. It is also available in sterling silver ($130).
The necklace is also part of two different sets. One created in honor of Vice President Kamala Harris, the first US female Vice President and another created in honor of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, the second woman to be named to the US Supreme Court.
The Kamala Harris + Woman Power necklace set ($285) includes a custom Goddess Coin with the Vice President pictured on the front of the coin. The RBG custom Goddess Coin features the late Supreme Court Justice.
The Woman Power charm features the female Venus symbol with a protesting fist. It is accented with a genuine purple amethyst, which is a protective stone associated with abundance and enlightenment.
The charm is also available in a slightly different style. It is shown in gold vermeil ($119) and sterling silver ($110) and hangs from a jump ring on the chain.
Awe Inspire donates 20% of every purchase to help women most in need. The brand has donated hundreds of thousands of dollars and continues to do so.
It is also worth noting that a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the Kamala Harris Goddess Coin will be donated to EMILY’s List helping to get more women elected to national, state, and local offices.
UPDATE 5/9: We’ve had a few followers suggest that a version of the necklace is shown on The Signature Collection site and social media accounts in gold. We have received confirmation from Awe Inspired that the listing on the Signature Collection site is not the same necklace however it is a great #replimeghan and budget friendly piece at $60.
The Duchess also wore her Jennifer Meyer 18k gold bezel tennis bracelet ($3000) and her Cartier ‘Love’ bracelet in gold. We first saw the Jennifer Meyer bracelet for the Oprah Interview.
Cartier Francaise Tank Watch in gold, thought to have once belonged to Princess Diana.
Meghan also had on a new pair of earrings that have not yet been identified.
We will update the post once we have more information on her earrings.
For those interested in what First Lady Jill Biden wore, she had on her Oscar de la Renta Lemon-Print belted midi dress ($2890).
The First Lady has worn the dress a number of times over the past few months. She was seen wearing it for a visit with former President Jimmy Carter and former First Lady Rosalynn Carter.
You may recognize the print when Meghan wore the Citrus Primavera Peplum Hem version of the dress ($3,490) for the Spotify “Stream On” Event back in February of this year.

I completely forgot to watch this event! Maybe it’s available on Youtube or streaming somewhere. Meghan looks so healthy and happy in her appearance here. I can’t tell if I like or dislike this dress! It’s hard to tell from Meghan sitting down and I’m not quite sure it would work as maternity? I think the print is not my taste, a bit loud and orangy. That Woman Power necklace is so badass.
I thought JIll Biden’s lemon dress looked familiar! I was wondering where I’d seen it haha. I have to admit I like Jill’s cut of the dress better than Meghan’s, not very into the tiered ruffle look but that print is so cute and perfect for summer.
