Meghan shared an Instagram post Friday evening that feels personal, intentional, and very them. It’s a mix of past and present — a throwback photo from 2016 paired with a current video filmed by their daughter, Princess Lilibet — and it quietly says a lot without trying too hard.
The throwback shows Meghan with Harry during their early days, specifically their now-famous trip to Botswana. This wasn’t just any getaway — it was their third date, and as Harry later wrote in his memoir Spare, it was where their relationship truly deepened.

If the photo looks familiar, that’s because it is. We’ve seen it before in the Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan. But seeing it resurface now, in this context, gives it new life. This isn’t about rehashing old memories — it takes us back to where it all began.

What makes the post especially timely is how perfectly it fits into Instagram’s current obsession with 2016 throwbacks. All over the platform, people are revisiting that era — old photos, simpler moments, pre-algorithm vibes, and memories from a time that now feels oddly grounding. Meghan tapping into that trend doesn’t feel performative; it feels authentic. That year just happens to matter in a very real way to her.
That contrast is the point. A love story that started quietly in Botswana has grown into a life that includes children, shared moments, and the kind of happiness that doesn’t need a spotlight.

The details of Meghan’s white T-shirt and shorts aren’t clearly visible in the image, so I’m unable to verify the brands at this time.
Meghan’s wrap is a traditional African Kikoy (sarong) handmade in Nairobi, Kenya, in turquoise blue. I’ll provide a few links where you can find them — here, here and here.

Earlier this week As Ever released the limited edition bookmark — ‘Fell Asleep Here’ Leather Bookmark, $18. The bookmark was also included in the A Moment to Unwind Set, $65. Both items are sold out.

If you are interested, the journal seen above is from Godmothers books. The teapot is the Teabloom Celebration Modern Teapot & Loose Tea Glass Infuser (40 oz), $35. The silverware is the 1847 Rogers Bros. is Heritage Cutlery (no longer available).

I’ve been doing a series of throwback photos and collages on Meghan’s fashion over on my Instagram account here. You can shop the looks here.

One other bit of shopping information to share – Meghan’s Anine Bing Double Link Chain Necklace, $600, is back in stock. She wore the piece back in October 2025 for the Project Healthy Minds Gala in New York City.

I also wanted to share that just before the holidays I received the Edge of Ember pendants Meghan wore back in 2020 — Kismet Charm Necklace, $175 and Visionary Charm Necklace – Gold, $188. The chain is their Ball Chain Necklace – Gold, $65. I’m completely obsessed with both pieces and never take them off!

Love this! It’s so sweet! ♥️♥️♥️
