This evening the Duchess of Sussex attended the Variety Power of Women event, presented by Lifetime Television. The event celebrated influential women in the entertainment industry and their philanthropic endeavors.
Meghan graced the occasion in a stunning ensemble that seamlessly blended sophistication with a touch of modern flair. The Duchess opted for a beige Proenza Schouler gown that accentuated her radiant presence. She paired the gown with a clutch from the same brand and shoes from Aquazzura.
The event commemorates the latest honorees of Variety’s Power of Women, each of whom graces the cover of the esteemed publication. Meghan attended the event after being honored last year, expressing her “pride” to be present and extend her support, as conveyed to reporters on the vibrant red carpet.
“We have so many exciting things on the slate. I can’t wait until we can announce them. But I’m just really proud of what we’re creating. My husband is loving it, too. It’s really fun.” – Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex
Meghan on the cover of Variety, October 2022 as a Power of Women 2022 honoree.

This year’s Power of Women spotlight shines on Fantasia Barrino, Billie Eilish, Lily Gladstone, and Carey Mulligan. Notably, the prestigious Producer of the Year award was bestowed upon LuckyChap co-founders Margot Robbie, Tom Ackerley, and Josey McNamara.
While Meghan attended the event solo, sans Prince Harry, she took a moment to share her favorite holiday tradition with reporters — relishing every moment of the festive season with their “little ones.”
Now our look at what Meghan wore for tonight’s event.

UPDATE 11/17: Proenza Schouler shared this information about Meghan’s dress on Instagram. The dress is a custom version of the ‘Rosa’ dress (as shown below) in Fawn Matte Viscose Crepe.

Meghan wore a gown from Proenza Schouler – a version of their ‘Rosa’ dress. We show the ‘Rosa’ dress in black ($1390) and beige leather ($2990) below.

Get-the-Look with this affordable option: Gibson & Latimer One Shoulder Dress, $79.

Her bag is also from Proenza Schouler – the Flip shoulder bag in black leather, $1390.

Her shoes are from Aquazzura – the ‘Dangerous Liaisons’ 105mm pump in black, $895 (now $538).

UPDATE 11/17 – CONFIRMED: **We’ve received confirmation that Meghan’s ring and earrings are from Mejuri.
The brand let us know that Meghan’s ring is the Mejuri – the ‘Charlotte’ bold ring, $98.

Her earrings are the Mejuri Chunky Huggie Hoops in gold, $98. If you sign up with them they are offering 20% off $150 or more for Black Friday.

Please read carefully – Ariel Gordon also has identical pieces to her ring and earrings. We had also reached out to the brand and did not hear back — The Lady Finger Ring in 14k gold, $1850, and Fat Tire Huggie hoop earrings, $425. We hope this clears up any confusion.

She also wore her Cartier ‘Love’ bangle.

A very big and appreciative thanks to Pearl Kadupul on X for all of her hard work and effort in helping me identify the dress, shoes and jewelry. We worked hard into the late hours last night on these items. We may not always get it right at first, but we’ll always correct and provide updates so be sure to check back.

That is the most glamorous potato I’ve ever seen.
Seriously, though–the cut is wonderful, her stylization is wonderful, her hair, make-up–wonderful…but putty is an awkward color to pull off.
She looks fantastic! Love the dress; not sure about the color, though. I don’t think it does much for her.
Other than the severe hairdo Meghan looks gorgeous and I love that dress. But where is the color? Everything is so neutral she kind of just disappears. We don’t see her often so I always look forward to when we do and this is just….blah.
Thanks for working to put out a list of her previous wears. I look forward to checking it out!
I don’t feel blah about the colour at all. It seems to me like a rich milky coffee (not even fawn, even though the designer has called it that) or cream fudge! I loved it, and think it tones beautifully with her glow. Rightly or wrongly, I read some kind of sub-text here about not standing out at this point in time but nevertheless achieving the quiet sophistication that she is so expert at.
Fair enough regarding her not standing out. I think she looks beautiful (except for the hair) and I guess I like seeing her in some color. Different strokes for different folks. 😊
So I think she looks fantastic and I really like the slim style and color of the dress. But I’m confused about the placement of that seam. It’s supposed to go straight down the middle, but with the dress designed to go off the shoulder, I think it makes the seam look prominent and poorly constructed. Odd choice by the designer, I think.
Doesn’t she look fantastic! I read elsewhere that she was on Variety’s cover in 2022 and would no doubt have played a prominent part that year but was unable to attend because of the death of Queen Elizabeth. Would you consider carrying a picture of that cover? Thanks for these photos.
Hi Maureen, She did appear on the Variety cover in October 2022 and I’ve updated the post with the photo. Here is the link to our post from last year – https://whatmeghanwore.net/in-the-moment-with-meghan-x-variety-grieving-her-late-majesty-archetypes-her-favorite-rom-coms-and-more/. Thanks, Susan
Thanks Susan, I must have missed the original post. Sorry!
Gorgeous!!! So polished and loved the details on the dress.
Meghan’s out and about!
Absolutely beautiful, she is getting back to being herself, lovely to see.
