Happy 45th birthday to Meghan!
Meghan marked her birthday on Monday in the most delightfully carefree way—by taking a flying leap into a swimming pool.
In a new black-and-white post shared on Instagram, the Duchess is seen midair above the water as balloons float nearby. She thanked everyone for the birthday love and well wishes, giving followers a joyful—and very California—glimpse of her celebration.
The photographs captured something even better than a polished birthday portrait: pure fun. Meghan looked happy, playful and fully committed to the jump. No complicated styling or elaborate setting—just sunshine, balloons and a birthday girl making a splash.
As we celebrate Meghan’s 45th birthday, we are also looking back at photographs from birthdays past. Through the years, her birthday celebrations have reflected the many chapters of her life—from actress and humanitarian to wife, mother, entrepreneur and Duchess.
Just 5 years ago in 2021, Meghan celebrated her milestone 40th birthday by launching the 40×40 initiative, asking 40 friends and public figures to give 40 minutes of mentorship to help women reenter the workforce. Announced in a lighthearted video with Melissa McCarthy, the project placed service and community at the heart of Meghan’s birthday—a fitting reflection of the causes she has supported throughout her public life.
Longtime followers may remember the message Meghan shared on The Tig for her 35th birthday in 2016. She described birthdays as her own personal New Year: a time to make wishes, set intentions and look ahead. Her wish for that year centered on joy, adventure, nourishment and inspiration—a sentiment that still feels very Meghan all these years later.
Later in the day, Meghan shared a few stories to her Instagram account. A birthday breakfast celebration with the family which included party hats for Pula and Mia.

We wish Meghan a very happy 45th birthday and a year filled with good health, love, laughter and plenty of joyful moments with Prince Harry, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.

I’m not sure what swimsuit the Duchess wore for her splash in the pool. She might be wearing the Hunza G square neck swimsuit, $255, that she wore in her recent vacation photos. She could be wearing her Heidi Merrick ‘Santa Barbara sunglasses.
For her birthday breakfast, Meghan wore a graphic tee with the phrase “It’s Giving Mrs” on the front of it. The t-shirt is likely from Etsy, $28.
