Day three of the Invictus Games started with Harry and Meghan taking part in a meaningful visit to Squamish Nation at the Squamish Valley Totem Hall before heading to Whistler.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were warmly welcomed by the community, where they immersed themselves in Indigenous traditions, learning about the language, history, and culture of the Squamish people.

The visit marked a special moment in the Games, reflecting the deep connection between sport, culture, and healing—a key aspect of the Invictus Games’ mission.

“It’s a special day for us,” Wilson Williams, the spokesperson for Sḵwx̱wú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish Nation), tells T&C. “I’ve been waiting to host them in our community. I’ve been a part of the [Invictus] journey for three years.”

“We are now part of the Invictus family—giving what we can to the games, and adding that healing and medicine and spiritual side of our culture, our traditions, and our language,” he continues. “So the Invictus Games now is that much more richer; Prince Harry knew right away.” When the Duke of Sussex announced that Vancouver and Whistler had won the bid, Williams remembers, Harry said it was with “the invitation and permission of the Indigenous people.”

The couple watched traditional songs and dances, explored weaving and drumming, and even joined in a ceremonial dance, playing musical instruments alongside their hosts.

Meghan’s coat is her J.Crew Chateau Wool-Blend Parka in Heather Dark Walnut, $375 (no longer available).
Her black mock neck sweater is unidentified. Her black skinny jeans are also unidentified — they could be her La Ligne ‘Valerie’ jeans, $195.
Meghan brought back her Co Riding Boot in smooth calf leather, $1195. She first wore the boots in February 2024 for the Invictus Games countdown to 2025.
We could not see which earrings she was wearing.

Really happy to see First Nations/Canada’s indigenous groups included in IG! I’d be curious to know if there are any First nation tribe members on Team Canada during IG? Are Harry and Meghan wearing IG brand pendants? Or is that a gift from the Squamish Nation to them?
