Today the Mayhew, of which the Duchess is patron, shared the Sussex’s 2020 Christmas Card.
The couple, their son Archie and two dogs, Guy and Pula, were photographed by Meghan’s mother, Doria Ragland, at their Montecito home earlier this month. The tree and homemade ornaments were chosen by Archie.
In her card Meghan said they had made a personal donation to the charity as well as several others, including; the Henry Van Straubenzee Memorial Fund and Transition House based in Santa Barbara, California.
“This year we, as a family, have made donations to several charities with you in mind. From a local California organisation that helps families transition out of homelessness, to two of our U.K. patronages: one that supports animal and community welfare, and the other, a memorial fund for a cherished friend that helps to educate children and fight poverty in Uganda, we have honoured their work on behalf of all of us.”The charity said they are looking forward to continuing to work with the Duchess to help even more animals and people.
From the Mayhew’s CEO, Caroline Yates.
“We are delighted to have the Duchess of Sussex as our Patron, and she has shone a huge light on our community-based animal welfare work over the last two years. We were especially honoured to recently receive a personal donation from the Duke and Duchess, which will enable us to help even more cats, dogs and pet owners in need over this tough winter period.”
“I’d like to say thank you to our Patron on behalf of the whole Mayhew family – both two and four legged! – and we can’t wait to continue the good work in 2021.”
The image itself was transformed into a painting adding a special touch to an adorable family photo for the holidays.
