Harry and Meghan kicked off the 2025 Invictus Games by surprising Team USA at breakfast on Saturday morning.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex took time to connect with American competitors before the games officially began, making a lasting impact on the athletes.

Retired Master Sgt. Blanca Baquero-Cruz described meeting Prince Harry as “really special,” praising his unwavering commitment to wounded warriors. Major Ashley Christman echoed this sentiment, calling the breakfast “a really intimate connection” and appreciating how the couple engaged with each athlete’s journey.

The Sussexes’ presence underscored the spirit of unity that defines the Invictus Games.

Moses Debraska, another Team USA competitor, noted, “They wanted to be there—I sensed and felt that.”

For veterans like Christopher Byrde, who served in Afghanistan in 2008, meeting Prince Harry carried deep significance. “I remember hearing about him in Afghanistan and what he did. I always respected that,” Byrde shared, adding that he even got a “cheeky selfie” with the Duke.
Below, the couple also visited with Team Canada.

With over 550 athletes from 25 nations competing, the Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 is set to be an inspiring celebration of resilience, recovery, and camaraderie—something Harry and Meghan continue to champion with passion.

Now our look at What Meghan Wore —

Meghan wore a white sweater vest by Rag & Bone – the ‘Danica’ Wool & Cashmere Turtleneck Sweater Vest in ivory (past season – no longer available).

We think she might be wearing her CO Sweater Tank in Fine Cashmere, reg, $395 now $197, underneath the vest.

She first wore the tank in August 2021 for her 40th birthday video.

**UPDATE 2/9: The Duchess wore ivory pants from Altuzarra. We are still determining which style they might be. Below are several options from the brand that are close to what Meghan wore.
Hypnos wide-leg pants, $995 (I’m leaning towards these as the texture matches that of the pants Meghan is wearing.)

I adjusted the brightness of the photo on the right of pants verses Meghan’s on the left to show a bit of the texture.

Another option is the ‘Rudy’ pant, $995.

**UPDATE 2/9: Confirmed! Meghan wore the Ralph Lauren ‘Celia’ Goat-Suede Pump, $575 (no longer available). She first wore the shoes at the Invictus Games – The Hague, April 2022.

Meghan also owns the shoes in the Loden green colorway – see our posts here and here.
She also wore a Gulivia Heritage coat (not pictured above). We think it is the ‘Linda’ shawl collar robe in camelhair, $2,950.

Thanks to Emily Burack of Town & Country for the fashion details.
She wore her staple watch and bracelets. We could not see what earrings she had on.
Meghan has certainly embraced the oversize/baggy trend that is so in right now. I’ve struggled to make that change in my wardrobe but I’ve managed to incorporate a few wider leg pants over the past few years! Her outfit here is so chic! The only thing I wonder about and it’s minor, I just don’t know how I feel about the long pants covering her shoes and skimming the ground. I’d be so nervous about tripping!
Her jewelry stack can be seen in the first picture.
Hi Amy – thanks for pointing that out. In the chaos I missed it in that photo! – Susan
