The internet went abuzz today as the Duchess of Sussex made a subtle yet significant return to Instagram. But hold your breath; it’s not what you might expect.
In a low-key move, Meghan unveiled her latest venture, American Riviera Orchard, through an Instagram account launch. This new lifestyle brand marks Meghan’s foray into a realm reminiscent of her beloved blog, the Tig, which she bid farewell to upon her engagement to Prince Harry.
The inaugural post featured a cryptic video shared on Stories, offering a glimpse into Meghan’s world. Set against the backdrop of her Montecito home, the clip showcases Meghan arranging white roses and whipping up something delightful in her kitchen, donning a casual white tank. The soundtrack? Nancy Wilson’s soulful “I Wish You Love.”

American Riviera Orchard aims to encapsulate Meghan’s passion for lifestyle, food, fashion, home, and garden—a fitting extension of her Tig days. While rumors swirled last year about a potential wellness-centric platform akin to Gwyneth Paltrow’s Goop, a trusted friend of the duchess revealed that Meghan’s focus lies on something more accessible and grounded in her love for life’s simple pleasures.
A trademark filing reveals that brand will sell a wide range of home goods including cookbooks, edible treats like jellies, jams and spreads and tableware staples such as cutlery, table linens and drinkware.

Describing Meghan’s vision, the friend noted —
Meghan is busy working on creating something safe and timeless. And something that won’t be accused of riding on the back of anything royal.”
Below, a glimpse of the website, featuring the logo meticulously crafted by Meghan’s own calligraphic hand.
The brand’s name, American Riviera Orchard, pays homage to Meghan’s current home in Santa Barbara, California. Known as the “American Riviera” for its idyllic climate, lush landscapes, and vibrant food and wine culture, Santa Barbara serves as the perfect muse for Meghan’s latest endeavor.
This year also saw Meghan and Harry relaunching their Sussex.com website, bridging connections to her previous blogging ventures. Collaborating with Canadian digital design agency Article, Meghan praised the team’s attention to detail, creativity, and care in bringing her ideas to life.
In her review, Meghan expressed admiration for Article’s ability to elevate concepts into visual identities, emphasizing their thoughtful approach to design and user experience. Plus, she couldn’t help but show some love for their Canadian roots.
With American Riviera Orchard and Sussex.com, Meghan continues to carve her path, blending her passions with purpose and authenticity. As she embarks on this new chapter, one thing is certain: Meghan’s return to Instagram heralds an exciting journey ahead.
We’re so excited about what’s ahead and we’re thinking that Meghan may also have a show based on Netflix based on the brand.

Does anyone know when this is going to launch with products, etc? I’ve tried to find something online, and I haven’t found anything yet. I signed up for the waitlist on the website, but I did not receive a confirmation or anything else.

Hi Dana,
They haven’t announced anything. I believe that’s what the waitlist is for. We did not receive confirmation emails either. I am thinking it will launch in the next month or so. Maybe in May for their anniversary? Hopefully we will have more news soon. I would suggest following the Instagram account as well. I was alerted to it all early thanks to a friend with connections. I’ll definitely share anything I hear as soon as it’s announced. Thanks, Susan

Wowza, I am so excited. This is gonna be fun! I’d also like to point out that ARO’s branding is reminiscent of gorgeous linens. Thick, yet lightweight, tightly-woven, cream LINENS!!!! Topped with a golden tonal monogram. Fun fact: I stalk antique European linens on Etsy from sellers in France, and that monogram style is pure eighteenth-century-inspired! Thank you so much for the coverage. I also read that March 14 was the fourth anniversary of the Sussexes’ “freedom flight.” 🥰

I love this! When I first heard about Harry’s new love, I found The Tig. And realised I loved this amazing person even more than I loved Harry.
