The Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s Colombian adventure continues! Following a whirlwind of appearances, Prince Harry and Meghan were recently honored with a private luncheon hosted by Colombia’s Vice President, Francia Márquez.
Held on Friday afternoon, the intimate gathering welcomed esteemed guests, including government officials, leaders of international organizations, and figures from Colombia’s cultural scene.

Harper’s Bazaar reports that the purpose of the luncheon was to foster meaningful dialogue on critical global issues, with a particular focus on creating safer environments for children worldwide.
The Vice President extended the invitation to include staff members from both her office and the Sussexes’ team, acknowledging their collaborative efforts in planning the royal couple’s Colombian tour.
The luncheon menu featured some of Harry and Meghan’s favorite dishes like lemon cake and chocolate tart, alongside traditional Colombian delicacies.
For the occasion, Meghan looked stunning in a flowing Oscar de la Renta cerulean blue maxi dress, paired with Aquazzura heels and a diamond tennis necklace by Logan Howell. Harry complemented his wife’s attire with a sharp suit.
The couple addressed the room, with Meghan delivering her speech entirely in Spanish! They expressed their gratitude to the Vice President and guests and shared their enthusiasm for Colombia’s rich culture and people. Additionally, they commended the country’s commendable efforts in education, mental health advocacy, and child protection.
The luncheon also included a presentation by Colombia’s Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, Elizabeth Taylor Jay, offering a preview of the upcoming Global Ministerial Conference on Violence Against Children. Held in Colombia this November, the conference aims to foster global collaboration in addressing and mitigating this crucial issue.
Our look at what Meghan wore for
Meghan wore a bright cerulean blue maxi dress from Oscar de la Renta. We’re unable to find the exact style and have a feeling it may be a piece from a past season collection. The closest we could find, color-wise, is this draped cape-effect silk-blend georgette gown shown below.
You may recall when Meghan had a Zoom call in July 2020 for Girl Up Leadership (post here) we caught a glimpse of a bright blue top. We’re wondering if that may have been this Oscar de la Renta dress and not the Adam Lippes top (below right).
She paired the dress with shoes from her coveted brand, Aquazzura. We have not seen the shoes, however, we show the Celeste 105 embellished leather sandals that she wore in February 2022 for the NAACP awards.
The Duchess wore her Logan Hollowell Baby Reverse Water Drop Diamond Tennis Necklace, $15,600.
I caught a glimpse of the necklace when I saw the photos last night and had a feeling was the Logan Hollowell! She first wore the necklace while the couple were visiting Canada back in February.

I absolutely love Meghan, but I have to admit I’m not a fan of this big, shapeless maxi dress. I think it overwhelms her petite figure.

I love everything those two do. Meghan has a precise and definite image in mind for herself, and I respect her for her consistent images. She is very lean and trim, so she looks great in dresses with cutouts, bare shoulders, etc. I love everything she wears — I have not liked only one outfit in 6 years.
I’m curious about the rings on her right hand — or is this a reversed image that is actually showing her lest hand? Thank you.
Hi Allison – We haven’t seen any photos that show the details of her rings. She wore a vintage cocktail ring the other day and yesterday we saw a signet pinky ring which I am thinking may be the Missoma one she’s worn before. I’m not sure if we will see better photos from the luncheon as it was a private affair. – Thanks, Susan
