Their arrival in Fiji’s capital of Suva later today will be followed by two days of engagements focused on the environment and education before the Duke and Duchess of Sussex head to Tonga.
The flight carrying staff, journalists and the royals is expected to land in Fiji around 3:30 pm local time, that is 12:30 am EST; this is an hour earlier than expected according to local media. A quick reminder that if you need help translating time zones, our little tour clock widget is now on Fiji time.

The red carpet is being rolled out for the royal guests.
Here’s what we can expect when the Duke and Duchess arrive:
- They will be greeted by a guard of honour at the airport in Nausori.
- The couple will call on His Excellency, President Jioji Konrote at Borron House in Suva, shown below.
- They will then be officially welcomed in a ceremony at Albert Park which will mirror the format of the ceremony attended by the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh in 1953. Below, HM and the Duke arriving in 1953.

Meghan and Harry will then head to the iconic Grand Pacific Hotel.

Tonight we will see another royal reception and dinner at the hotel. It will be the first time we see the Duchess in formalwear.
We have a very cursory glance at what we think Meghan wore today.
The Duchess wore a pair of black jeans. They could be her Mother ‘Looker’ jeans in Not Guilty ($196) which are a little longer than that the Outland ‘Harriet’ jeans she has been seen wearing during the tour.
Her blouse is from Frank and Eileen. It is the brand’s ‘Eileen’ white linen shirt, $238.
She had on a new pair of shoes, a studded suede style from Aquazzura called the DJ Slide ($555).

Meghan wore a pair of Le Spec ‘Bandwagon’ sunglasses in Black Tort, $69.
It looked like Meghan had on the same necklaces worn yesterday, the Adina Reyter Pavé Teardrop Necklace ($418), as well as the Pascale Monvoisin Cauri Nº2 Necklace ($475). We’re thinking she was also wearing her Karen Walker ‘Temptation’ earrings ($312).

I imagine the last minute walkabout on Kingfisher Pier changed Meghan and Harry’s timetable a bit but it looks like they made their charter flight on Quantas! They look comfy for the 3.5 hour flight and from the looks of the menu they, and everyone else on the flight, will enjoy a fantastic meal. Harry and Meghan will have to change onboard…that’s not easy!
Qantas, not Quantas. It’s an acronym for Queensland and Northern Territory Aerial Services. You’re not the first to make that mistake, and won’t be the last! 🙂

Great to see old favourites of white shirt and jeans for travel — the old Meghan is still there. Those shoes are wild, I remain mystified as to how folk can remain attached to mules once they are active in the outside world, I won’t risk mine outside the house. But studded mules are a whole new dimension — a savvy pick!
I’m just not graceful enough to wear them lol. My feet always fall out. So now I am jealous of the royals’ ability to wear mules, and stilettos, ha.
Well, how to put it.. the shoes are my least favorite part of Meghan’s closet so far.
Talk about ultra casual. Harry and Meghan look like someone left with their suitcases, leaving them scrambling to find something to wear. Then again, who doesn’t want to be comfortable on a plane? I love Meghan’s shoes and am pleased for her when she forgets the stilettos and goes for comfort.
Really enjoyed the video of the Queen and Prince Philip in Fiji in 1953. My how times have changed.
