Harry and Meghan began their Sydney visit on Friday with a meaningful and heartfelt stop, meeting with community members impacted by the recent tragedy at Bondi Beach.

Before stepping onto the sand, the Duke and Duchess spent time privately with survivors of the Bondi Junction attack, along with members of the emergency response teams who acted so quickly that day.
They met with paramedics, police, and surf lifesavers—those who were first on the scene—thanking them personally for their bravery and service.
The couple also spoke with individuals directly affected, offering support and taking time to listen.
In addition, Harry and Meghan met with volunteer first responders from the Bondi Surf Bathers’ Life Saving Club, recognizing the vital role the club plays in keeping beachgoers safe year-round. The surf lifesavers—iconic figures on Bondi Beach—were among those who assisted during the emergency response, making the moment especially significant.
The couple greeted well-wishers, chatted with locals, and spent time with surf lifesavers—highlighting the strong community spirit Bondi is known for.

The day wrapped with a scenic sail on Sydney Harbour, connecting back to Harry’s ongoing work with the Invictus Games Foundation.

The couple meet Invictus Australia veteran Joel Vanderzwan, his wife Alexandra, daughter Charlotte and twin sons Harrison and William before going sailing.

Joining veterans and service members, the outing underscored the healing power of sport and community—core pillars of the Invictus mission.
