Today, we’re sharing the latest news updates on Meghan and Harry. While we originally had other posts planned, we’ve shifted our focus in light of the recent wildfires in Los Angeles to highlight more pressing events.
Meghan and Harry were in Pasadena, California on January 12th during the fires working with Chef Jose Andres and World Central Kitchen.

The couple visited the Pasadena Convention Center, which was serving as an evacuation hub for families displaced by the Eaton Fire.

The couple was seen handing out food parcels and engaging with evacuees, offering words of encouragement and solidarity. They also spent time with first responders, thanking them for their tireless efforts in battling the ongoing fires.

In the video below, Meghan is seen comforting a victim of the fires.
Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo, who spoke with Meghan and Harry during their visit, emphasized the impact of their presence —
“It’s great people, great personalities and great heart for them to come out here and meet with the first responders, meet with the people who were affected. It’s very important.”

A particularly touching moment came when the Sussexes met with renowned chef José Andrés, founder of World Central Kitchen, which has been providing hot meals to evacuees. The couple has worked closely with the organization in the past, and their ongoing collaboration highlights their commitment to humanitarian efforts.

Meghan continued to lend her support to wildfire relief efforts in California, this time with a meaningful visit to Altadena Teen Girls, an organization founded by 14-year-old Avery Colvert to help young girls regain their confidence after losing their homes.

Meghan arrived at the organization’s event with bags of new clothing, beauty products, and lunch for the volunteers. She spent time chatting with families, assisting girls with shopping, and offering support wherever needed.

Avery, who created the initiative in response to the Eaton Canyon fire, explained her mission —
“I started this to help girls affected specifically by the Eaton Canyon fire who lost their homes feel like themselves — and feel confident again,” Avery told the Los Angeles Times. “They’ve lost everything, and I want them to feel a sense of normalcy when nothing else in their life is normal.”
The Altadena Girls Instagram account shared a heartfelt Reel, capturing Meghan’s arrival and interactions with the girls.
Avery had this to say about meeting the Duchess —
“She was so kind, and immediately after she showed up, she went in and started volunteering and helping people. She helped style people, helped them rebuild their dream closets. And I thought it was so cool”
The couple’s Archewell Foundation made a donation to Altadena Teen Girls Fire Recovery. If you are interested in donating to Altadena Girls please see the link here.
Be sure to show your support to Altadena Boys fire recovery organization as well. You can donate to them here.

In addition to their visit, Harry and Meghan shared a list of resources on their Archewell Foundation website, along with this message —
“In the last few days, wildfires in Southern California have raged through neighborhoods and devastated families, homes, schools, medical care centers, and so much more affecting tens of thousands from all walks of life. A state of emergency has been issued.”
The couple has also contributed donations and essential supplies to relief efforts, continuing to use their platform to bring awareness and aid to those in need. See a list of resources shared on the Sussex.com website.

As of today, the fires are nearly fully contained, but the road to recovery and rebuilding is just beginning. Our hearts, thoughts, and prayers remain with the victims and everyone affected in the Los Angeles area.

Earlier this month, Meghan shared on Instagram the heartbreaking news of her beloved Beagle, Guy’s passing. She adopted Guy in 2015 from a Canadian animal rescue, and he remained by her side through many of life’s most significant moments—including her engagement and marriage to Prince Harry and the births of their children, Archie and Lilibet.
Below are some photos of Guy from over the years including the day she introduced him (with her dog Bogart) on Instagram – March 2015.

We were heartbroken to hear about Guy’s passing. If you’d like to donate in his honor, consider supporting Mayhew—where Meghan remains a Patron—or a local animal shelter or charity of your choice. Additionally, several LA-based animal shelters impacted by the wildfires could use support, including the Animal Wellness Foundation (which Harry and Meghan support) and Pasadena Humane.

The Invictus Games Vancouver Whistler 2025 are just 10 days away! Set to take place in British Columbia from February 8 to February 16, 2025, the highly anticipated event will once again shine a spotlight on the resilience and determination of wounded servicemen and women. While Meghan is expected to join Prince Harry at the Games, she previously hinted during the 2023 Invictus Games that the couple might bring their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to this year’s event.
Below are the medals for this year’s games.

“This year’s medals represent unity, courage, and victory. We come together as a global community to honour the extraordinary strength, resilience, and brilliance of our competitors and their families”
“For many, victory is simply reaching the start line, and I, for one, am immensely proud of every single one of them,” — Prince Harry, The Duke of Sussex, Founding Patron of the Invictus Games Foundation

While we normally wouldn’t share what Meghan wore for a post such as this — since we’ve received a number of requests asking — we’ve decided to share the details and donate any profits from today’s post to World Central Kitchen, Altadena Girls and several others to help victims of the wildfires.
Meghan wore a chambray shirt and black jeans while helping World Central Kitchen.

A follower suggested that the shirt could be from Gap — Organic Cotton Denim Classic Shirt in light wash, reg. $59, now $35.

Showing support for LA, Meghan wore her Los Angeles Dodgers royal blue adjustable baseball hat, reg. $34 now $24.

The fitted stretch version is available at Nordstrom here and Fanatics here.
She wore a new pair of Freda Salvador ‘Eda’ D’Orsay Sneakers in White Calf, $295. Also available from Shopbop here.

A woman owned brand based in California, Freda Salvador works with artisans in family-run factories in Spain and El Salvador, where they source the highest quality leathers for everyday wear that last.
Get the look with Lucky Brand sneakers, $55 now $39 – click the 30% off coupon.

In the photo of Harry (walking with Archie), he is wearing the Aviator Nation ‘Bolt’ hoodie in charcoal, $175.

Harry’s sneakers are from New Balance – I believe they are the 547 style. I have not had a chance to look further for these.
For the Altadena Girls meet-up, Meghan kept it casual in a black t-shirt and a black “LA” baseball cap, while carrying several shopping bags from Our Place — a woman-and immigrant-owned cookware brand based in Venice Beach. You may recall that Our Place was also the venue where Meghan hosted an Afghan Refugee Women’s dinner in October as part of the Archewell Foundation’s Welcome Project.

Please check back for updates to the post and be sure to join us next month for the Invictus Games coverage!
My heart goes out to all the victims of the LA fires. Harry & Meghan’s empathy & compassion knows no bounds. ♥️
Meghan’s no longer Patron of the Mayhew. She stepped down in 2022.

Thanks Amy! I must’ve forgotten about that. Susan
Thank you very much for this long awaited article, I am happy to have more details on her outfits despite this great disaster.
We remain waiting for the next articles and hope that they will move with the children.
It would also be nice to have details on the children’s outfits.
Thank you for the summary! They’re doing great work and so much to look forward to! I really appreciate that you are donating the proceeds from this post to these important organizations. ♥️
That Gap shirt does look super similar. Although, I don’t think it is quite the one. If you look at the picture of her wearing the shirt on the far left, it looks like the material is a lighter color on the inside. (See where it is folded up at the bottom?). The Gap shirt appears to be the same color inside and outside. So I’m guessing that Gap shirt linked isn’t quite the one she is wearing. Certainly a very close find!
