The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have officially arrived in Bogotá, Colombia, marking the beginning of their much-anticipated four-day tour.

The royal couple received a warm welcome from Colombian Vice President Francia Márquez, who has been instrumental in organizing their trip and her partner, Rafael Yerney Pinillo.

Meghan presented the vice president with a personal gift, and the two women shared a heartfelt exchange.

Márquez expressed her admiration for Harry’s late mother, Princess Diana, highlighting the shared values between the two women.

The Sussexes and Vice President Márquez then sat down for an intimate tea and coffee hour at her residence. During their conversation, the vice president emphasized the common ground they share in their commitment to creating a better future for children. Both parties expressed their dedication to promoting digital safety, mental health, and social justice.

For the occasion, Meghan opted for a classic navy Veronica Beard suit, featuring a tailored vest and cropped pants. The timeless color and clean lines made for a chic and professional ensemble. She accessorized the look with an off-white Loro Piana bag, black satin Monolo Blahnik heels, and a pair of Ray Ban sunglasses (Sunglasses confirmed by Town and Country magazine.) Harry complemented her look in a coordinating navy suit and bright blue dress shirt from Italian brand Brioni.

For their second stop today, the couple participated in an “Insight Session” at Colegio Cultura Popular school, in Bogotá. This session likely involved discussions around the impact of social media on young people, aligning directly with the mission of their Archewell Foundation.

Later on, the couple will join a summit gathering experts, activists, and community members all working towards a common goal: creating a more positive online environment. This aligns with the upcoming World Ministerial Conference on the Elimination of Violence Against Children, hosted by Colombia this November. Cyberbullying and online exploitation are key issues Archewell aims to address, and Meghan and Harry’s participation sends a strong message of support.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have a busy schedule during their visit to Colombia. Their packed schedule continues on August 16th. The Sussexes will meet with students in Bogotá to discuss the importance of emotional well-being in education. Additionally, a luncheon with Vice President Francia Márquez is on the agenda, followed by a gathering with Colombian Invictus Games competitors. Colombia’s participation in the 2023 Düsseldorf Games further strengthens the bond between the country and Prince Harry’s initiative for wounded service personnel.
Their itinerary also includes visits to Cartagena and Cali, offering the chance to engage with local leaders, youth, and women who are shaping the country’s future. Stay tuned for updates on their royal visit!
Now our detailed look at what Meghan wore today.

Meghan wore a vest and matching trousers from Veronica Beard — the ‘Orlinda’ vest in navy, $598 and ‘Arte’ pants in navy, $448. ShopBop offers more sizes in the vest here and in the pants here. Bloomingdales offers all sizes in the vest here and pants here.

Her bag is a grained calfskin from Liana Poro – the Loom bag L32 in Light Travertine and sun Gold (A0IF), $4700.

UPDATE: We initially thought Meghan wore a pair of satin Manolo Blahnik ‘BB’ pumps, the shoes are actually the Manolo Blahnik, the ‘Carolyne’ satin slingback pumps, $725. She wore the polka dot style back in February 2019 on the couple’s trip to Morocco.

The Duchess brought back a pair of earrings we have not seen in a while — the Pippa Small 18kt Gold Kyanite Classic Studs, $680. She first wore the earrings on the couple’s visit to Melbourne, Australia in 2018.

Meghan also wore her Lorraine Schwartz ‘Against Evil Eye’ bracelet and Cartier ‘Love’ bracelet and Diana’s gold Tank watch.

This is such a beautifully polished look, I would’ve picked navy shoes to match with, but it’s the bag that’s really outstanding. What a beautiful start for a fantastic visit!
I like this outfit a lot — especially because it looks tailored and the pants are not dragging on the ground! She looks smart and professional. A definite win.
Le choix des vêtements est magnifique pour les 2 et l’allure magnifique.
Je découvre la Colombie avec eux : c’est super !
English translation: “The choice of clothes is magnificent for both and the look is magnificent.
I’m discovering Colombia with them: it’s great!”
This is a gorgeous, crisp variation on a suit for Meghan. It’s summery, photogenic, and a little more interesting than a classic suit. I love Meghan’s mix of navy and black. She looks stunning!
And full marks for the VP’s exquisite white dress. I love the neckline and she looked so beautiful.
I absolutely adore this chic, beautifully tailored suit on Meghan. I love the navy blue color, and the lovely neckline on the suit. The bag she’s carrying looks gorgeous too! ❤️❤️❤️
I agree! Great style and fit. I usually don’t care for white accessories, but that bag is perfect.
