The Duchess of Sussex held a farewell solo engagement on Monday at Buckingham Palace.
Meghan, Patron of the Association of Commonwealth Universities, met with 22 scholars from across the Commonwealth as part of the ACU at Buckingham Palace for about 30 minutes.
Meghan also made some final good-byes to a few staff members before departing to Westminster Abbey for the Commonwealth Day Service.

For the event, Meghan wore a dress by Scanlan Theodore – The Crepe Knit Cravat Dress in navy, $650.
Her shoes are by Aquazzura, the ‘Purist’ pump 105 in ink blue suede, $695.
Meghan wore new earrings by Sophie Lis. They are the Fallen Star hoop earrings, £450 ($581 USD at today’s exchange rate)
Meghan’s clutch may be by Dior. It is a navy leather rectangular shape similar to the Dior Abielle clutch (below right). Meghan has carried the clutch previously (below left) while leaving Fiji in 2018.

What a look for Meghan to choose for her last (for now!) solo engagement as a royal. At this point it is actually heartwarming to see her in her trusted favourite navy shade, and it continues to look stunning on her. The tie at the neck is such an elegant touch and the ponytail just looks so much better with a bit of volume and the side part. The earrings are a beautiful bit of sparkle on top of everything.
In coronavirus hell looking through all Meghan’s old looks. She became my favorite Brit style royal other Princess Diana and Princess Margaret. I haven’t regularly checked the Duchess of Cambridges fashion in three years but I’m back on it and Crown Princess Mary. Hope everyone is happy and healthy.
Stunning! The color and fit look absolutely gorgeous on Meghan. The scarf detail, I think, is what made me think “flight attendant “, but overall, it is just a beautiful look. Her hair, makeup and accessories are just perfect. She looks elegant, professional and polished.

Like others, I immediately thought “flight attendant” with this dress but she is stunning in these pictures and love her hair and makeup here.
This is such a professional, put together outfit! It does give off “flight attendant” uniform vibes (especially with the tie at the neck!) but a flight attendant that would be working for the world’s classiest airline. Does such a thing exist though? Ha. She also matches a lot of the attendees who also dressed in navy, though probably not intentional. Love the whole look, it’s very office stylish.

Wow, that is a seriously fantastic dress, yay (reverse of my comment from previous post). She looks happy and glowing in all recent appearances, but a bit of consistency in her choices would benefit her.
Perfect, perfect perfect style for her. Interest at the neck draws the eye to her lovely face, and the cut/tailoring is perfection.
She looks amazing! Classic lines, chic jewelry, sophisticated hair. She has looked so beautiful all week. I would be hard pressed to choose a favorite look.
I am also getting flight attendant vibes as another poster mentioned. While she looks nice, it is unfortunate that for an event that included finding solutions to climate change, she chose a new dress with no link to sustainability. She wore all new outfits for the past few engagements….it may have been a ‘farewell tour’ but that should not preclude rewears or wearing sustainable fashion.
Goodness she can dress with the best of them when she wears clothes that suit her body shape. As someone who is tall like Kate but is short/high waisted like Meghan, I have a hard time finding clothes in my price range that looks and fits with my shape. Sometimes I think Meghan looks less….put together because so many things can go wrong for us short waisted gals, no matter our height.
When Meghan wears clothing that fits like this and the spectacular red and blue dresses, she looks fantastic. When she wears a skirt and blouse combo like the white one she wore to the museum engagement it just didn’t work for her. Had she worn a blouse that was untucked the skirt wouldn’t have looked like it was riding so high on her torso. It still would have been but we wouldn’t have been able to see it and would have looked much better. When she wears a dress like the orange brown color, it overwhelms her petite stature and she’s swallowed up in it.
It’s definitely interesting to follow both Meghan and Kate and see how different styles fit and flatter, or totally don’t work on their completely different body types, especially for me who is a combination of the two.
Absolutely why I follow this blog – same body type here. I thought – if she does as well as Catherine, I can look for copycat pieces and be all right. That underlying assumption hasn’t worked out, though. :/
Same! It’s frustrating being unable to find clothes that fit well and are not wallet busters. And I can’t afford to have everything altered either, so I do the best I can with what is available.

love this Scanlon Theodore dress. Have seen it real life as ST is a fabulous Australian designer who produce stunning clothes. This dress is a heavy knit but a great amount of stretch, is well structured and sits elegantly. The neck detail is interesting which really sets off the design. I saw another variation at a wedding we attended last weekend in the cream and looked fabulous. Does not look like a knit until you are up close and even then the structure of the dress is clean with some small piece of pleating, frill or neck enhancement.
Overall love this brand and also the dress. Really going to miss M on a regular basis. Hope they find peace and clarity of life away from the constant and negative glare of the public and media. Imagine every time you walk out the door your outfit is critiqued right down to a small line that might mean a garment is pulling across your arm because of the way you are standing.
This is a beautiful dress. Very stylish and elegant, love the rich navy colour. Shoes look great, the clutch is the perfect choice. The Fallen Star hoop earrings are stunning.
Love this look all together. Sleek and sophisticated. The Preen for the Queen’s Commonwealth Trust was a overall yikes for me. The style and the colour were just not good. I’m not sure who the colour of that dress would look good on. Not a fan of the IG themes of late which seem to focus on the individual rather than the event or organization itself.
Wow! Her hair looks fabulous. That sleek look is gorgeous on her. We don’t have a ton of angles on the dress but it looks really good and seems to fit her very nicely. I find the whole look very chic and sleek. She looks beautiful and radiant. The shoes and clutch are making me drool.
I’m not going to lie, I kind of get “flight attendant” vibes from the dress. BUT, like the most high-fashion, impeccably dressed flight attendant whose wonderful smile and sparkling attitude make the flight super enjoyable.
