What Meghan Wore has always been—and will remain—a drama-free space focused on Meghan’s fashion and the charitable work supported by both Harry and Meghan. I usually leave royal speculation to others because, goodness knows, the internet has that department fully staffed.
However, I wanted to say a few words about the couple’s temporary move to the UK.

Reports indicate that Harry, Meghan, Archie and Lilibet will spend an extended period in Britain, with the children attending school there. The family is keeping its Montecito home and the property Harry and Meghan reportedly purchased in Portugal. This is a temporary move, not necessarily a permanent return.

Harry and Meghan have not publicly explained every reason behind the decision—and they do not owe us one.
That has not stopped claims that they are moving because they are “broke,” because of Harry’s US visa or because they want to return to royal duties. There is no substantiated evidence supporting any of those theories. Repeating a rumor does not magically turn it into a fact.
There are several far more reasonable possibilities.
King Charles has been receiving treatment for cancer since 2024. Whatever may be happening privately within the family, Harry and Meghan may simply want to be closer to him and allow their children more time with their grandfather.
The Invictus Games Birmingham 2027 will also take place next July. Harry founded the Games and remains patron of the Invictus Games Foundation, so being in Britain during the preparations makes perfect sense. He also maintains relationships with several UK charities.

Archie and Lilibet should have the opportunity to experience their British roots, spend time with family and learn more about their father’s home country. That does not need to be turned into a grand conspiracy.

Meghan’s Work in the UK
Meghan is expected to continue running As Ever from Britain while its operations remain based in California. Businesses can be managed internationally—this is 2026, after all.
I also cannot help wondering whether this could finally lead to a UK or European As Ever offering. European customers have been very patient!
Her time in Britain may also create opportunities to reconnect with organizations she previously supported, including Mayhew and Smart Works. Nothing has been announced, but it would be wonderful to see her revisit some of those relationships.

The Security Question
Many people are understandably concerned about the family’s safety, particularly after Harry’s long-running dispute with the UK government over security.
Harry and Meghan pay for their own private security. The issue is that private protection officers in Britain generally cannot carry firearms and do not have the same access to official intelligence and threat information as specialist police officers.
Harry’s concern has been whether UK authorities will provide appropriate assistance based on verified threats and coordinate with the couple’s privately funded security team. This is more complicated than the often-repeated claim that he simply wants taxpayers to pay for his protection.
Whatever anyone thinks of Harry and Meghan, the safety of their family—especially their children—should not be used as another excuse for a public pile-on.
About The Gentlemen Rumor
There has also been considerable chatter that Meghan was offered a role in the third season of Guy Ritchie’s Netflix series The Gentlemen.
Neither Meghan, Netflix, Guy Ritchie nor the production officially confirmed that she had been cast. Despite that, the story quickly progressed from supposed “early conversations” to claims that a role had been created for Meghan—and then withdrawn because of public backlash.
That is quite the complete storyline for a role that was never officially announced.
Meredith Constant explains how the story developed in her Instagram post, which is worth watching.
Meghan could certainly return to acting if she chooses, but until she or the people involved confirm a project, it remains speculation.
A Note About the Press
The British press will undoubtedly go bananas over Harry and Meghan’s time in the UK. It has already begun.
When the couple stepped back from royal duties in 2020, I made a conscious decision to stop using the former Royal Rota tabloids—including the Daily Mail, The Sun and the Daily Express—as sources for this site. I will continue that policy.
The best approach is to ignore the noise, rely on credible information and resist treating every unnamed “source” as fact.
Harry and Meghan may be spending time in Britain because of family, Invictus, charity work, business opportunities, their children—or a combination of all those things. None of us knows the couple’s complete reasoning.
Life changes. Family priorities change. Plans change.
What Meghan Wore will continue to focus on Meghan’s fashion, her projects and the charitable work undertaken by the couple. This is not becoming a royal gossip site.
But when rumors begin masquerading as facts, I believe it is worth saying so.
That is my two cents. Now, back to the clothes.

I have a few Match Meg style pieces to share with you today.
Do you recall Meghan’s navy pinstriped blazer that she wore at Invictus in 2022? It was never identified, although speculated to be from Victoria Beckham.

I across this similar style from Loft – Striped Oversized Blazer, $160 now $96.

Her blue button up shirt was never identified. Here are some styles to get the look.
J. Crew Factory Signature-fit button-up shirt in end-on-end cotton, $58 / Gap Organic Cotton Oxford Big Shirt, $55

If you liked Meghan’s La Ligne pinstriped shirt that she wore back in early 2025 with Serena Williams, try this one from Gap – Organic Cotton Poplin Big Shirt, $80.

I shared these in a recent post—If you like Meghan’s Loro Piana ‘Summer Charms’ sandal in power pearl that she wore in With Love, Meghan, try the Project Cloud – Project Cloud 100% Genuine Leather Dressy Flat Sandals in London Fog, $44. I bought them recently and went down 1/2 a size to a 6 – however I have narrow feet and felt the 6 fit me better. They are very comfortable and I highly recommend these.

You can shop Meghan’s outfits on my ShopMy Shop here.
I’ll be back with another post covering some fall looks and what we might see Meghan wearing in the coming months. I’ll end the post with some photos of my recent trip to the National Parks in South Dakota.

Que maravillosas las fotografias de los parques de Dakota del sur

Hi Fabiola, Thank you so much! It really was a beautiful and peaceful trip. Susan
Susan, thank you! I continue to be a long-standing loyal reader of this column, for exactly the values you share here. I wish you ran the UK tabloids!
Maureen – thank you so much for your kind words and for your support of the blog. – Susan
Great post! I do hope to see much more of Meghan’s fashion since the family is back in the U.K.
Wishing them all the best and hope they get happily settled in England.
Is meghan bringing as ever to u.k
So happy they back home ere
I ordered 2 jars of the apple butter and am very excited!! Apparently they are based on a recipe from Meghan’s grandmother!
I thought the blazer she wore in 2022 was a Veronica Beard blazer? I ordered the exact same one and the one pictured here looks just like it.
I’ve had many different thoughts about the Sussex’s move back to England but I also realize that I don’t actually know these people and am certainly not privy to their discussions and decisions. I do hope that at some point Meghan will be able to work with Mayhew and/or Smart Works again, if she wants to. If she decides that her time is better spent with her family and growing her As Ever company, that’s her decision as well. But I do hope that we see her out and about as I really need some new fall/winter fashion inspiration!
Hi Lauri, It is identical, however Meghan’s has a straight hem on her jacket and the VB one has a curved hem at the opening. I recall a lot of back and forth about it. It’s Veronica Beard, but perhaps a slightly different style? – Susan
I’m waiting for my order of apple butter and tea..
Susan, thank you for this wonderful post! It was a balm for my addled brain after this past week. And I’m so glad that your site, like WKW, will continue to be a sanctuary considering so much of the internet is an awful cesspool. Thank you!!
You are the voice of reason. Thank you.
EB
It’s refreshing to read something that gives sensible reports instead of the always uk media hate for the couple. Let the Situation develop perhaps it is just King Charles, wanting to be near his Son and grandchildren just leave them be
Marie, Thank you. I tend to stay quiet for the most part, but behind the scenes I get really upset/mad when I see the ridiculous headlines and hateful comments. People think they know Harry and Meghan personally, we don’t. We know them from afar and only know what we see in the public interaction. Everyone I have spoken with that knows Meghan personally (ie; a few celebs that I’m friendly with that have worked with her), have had nothing but nice things to say about her. – Susan
Merci Susan 🎉🎉🎉
