Our Duchess is pregnant!
A spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex confirmed to multiple outlets today that Meghan is expecting her second child with Harry – and that Archie is getting a sibling!
“We can confirm that Archie is going to be a big brother,” the spokesperson said. “The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are overjoyed to be expecting their second child.”
The announcement was made alongside a beautiful photo of the couple outside under a tree, Harry barefoot and sitting up holding the head of Meghan, whose head rests on his lap. She smiles as she cradles her visible baby bump, wearing a sleeveless, long flowing Carolina Herrera dress. According to People magazine, the dress was first made when she was pregnant with Archie. Meghan has had a longtime connection with the brand’s creative director, Wes Gordon.
The photo was taken remotely by longtime friend and photographer Misan Harriman.

UPDATE: The news comes on almost the same day Princess Diana and Prince Charles announced they were expecting their second child, Harry, February 13, 1984.
From Today.com —
“In 1984, Princess Diana had taken a weekend solo trip to Oslo, Norway to watch the London ballet while her pregnancy was still a secret. That following Monday, Feb. 13, Kensington Palace released a statement that the Princess of Wales was expecting her second child. The next day, Valentine’s Day, her exciting announcement was on the front page of every major newspaper in the world.”
Harry and Meghan told their families the happy news before announcing it publicly today.
UPDATE: We’re hearing news that the baby is due in late Spring. Our best guess is June. Let us know what your guesses are on a due date in the comments.

A Happy Valentine’s Day, indeed!

Very happy for them. She looks like she’s glowing.
Question: What is the status of their children as a royal? I realize they’ve stepped away from the royal duties, etc., but what if their children wanted to “opt-in”? Could they?
WhatMeghanWore says
Hi Patty, good question. I don’t have the exact answer. Perhaps it would be left up to Charles when he becomes King, to bestow a title on any of their children. Never thought about that one before. Thanks, SC

Wonderful news. I am 37 and getting stressed I won’t ever produce a child. They are inspiring me and pushing me to find a Prince myself to start a happy family with! I hope all goes well with her pregnancy.

You wrote that their announcement comes on the “same day” as Diana’s announcement, but the tweet explains Diana and Charles announced on Jan. 13th. (The tweet saying “almost the same day” is a bit of a stretch, too… Over a month ago is not almost today… I think they just wanted us to have a nice Valentine’s Day surprise).
WhatMeghanWore says
Hi Sarah, that was a typo the part of the Tweet. In all the excitement we missed how that particular tweet says “January 14, 1984” – which is actually wrong. Diana and Charles announced they were expecting their second child, Harry, on February 13, 1984 and the following day (Feb 14, 1984) all the headlines in the papers had the announcement. We’ve updated the post to include the corrected information. Sorry for the confusion. – Susan and Rachel

That makes so much more sense then!
