Meghan appeared on The Ellen Show and we have a recap of the show with all the fun details!
The two discussed the time Meghan, Harry, Princess Eugenie and Jack Brooksbank (Eugenie’s now husband) went to a post-apocalyptic themed Halloween party in 2016 dressed in full costumes in Toronto before the couple’s relationship went public.
“The four of us snuck out in Halloween costumes to just have one fun night on the town before it was out in the world that we were a couple,” she explained.
“We were able to just sort of have one final, fun night out,” she said.
Meghan said they had low-key Halloween at home this year with Archie and Lili but things didn’t exactly go as planned.
From People —
We wanted to do something fun for the kids, and then the kids were just not into it at all,” she said with a laugh in a clip of her chat with the host.
Meghan said that Archie had a dinosaur costume but only wore the outfit for “about five minutes.”
“Not even five minutes,” DeGeneres, who spent the holiday with Meghan and Prince Harry, chimed in. “Finally Harry talked him into putting the head on.”
Meghan said that Lili was dressed up as a skunk, “like Flower from Bambi,” as she described it.

Meghan and Ellen’s friendship began years ago with a chance encounter at a dog shelter, where the former actress was debating whether to adopt her first pet, Bogart.
More from People —
“Now, I don’t know her, but Ellen goes ‘Is that your dog?’ And I said, ‘No,’ and she’s like, ‘You have to take that dog.’ And I said, ‘Well, I’m deciding.’ And she’s like, ‘Rescue the dog!’ ” Meghan recalled in Best Health. “It’s sort of like if Oprah tells you to do something. I’m sitting there holding him and she’s like ‘Have you thought of a name for him yet?’ And I said, ‘Well, I think I’d name him Bogart,’ and she’s like ‘You’re taking the dog home.’
Meghan continued, “And she walks outside to get into her car but instead of getting in she turns around and comes and taps on the window glass and she yells ‘Take the dog!’ And so I brought him home. Because Ellen told me to.”
Below, photos of Meghan with Bogart, graduating from puppy training school from Meghan’s now defunct Instagram account.
Ellen had a copy of Meghan’s book ‘The Bench’ and touched on that as well. The Duchess said that Archie loves the book gets very excited when he sees their dogs and chickens in the the first few pages. A photo of Archie was shared on the screen behind them.
The two further discussed Thanksgivings plans – Meghan said they are looking forward to a very relaxed time at home where she will cook dinner for the family.
One highlight of the show was when Ellen had Meghan go out on the Warner Bros. lot for one of her pranks. Meghan and the vendors alike, were such good sports about all of it.
Below is the clip —
Towards the end of her visit to the show, Ellen and Meghan surprised a member of the audience, Brittany Stark.
The single mom from Nashville had made a Facebook post at the beginning of the school year asking if any kids needed their hair braided thinking it would only be a few kids. Instead she ended up with 50 requests.
From People —
“I know how hard it is,” Sparks, who has professional experience braiding hair, says. “Then I realized that we are in a pandemic, and it’s not only single parents that need help. I opened it up to any struggling parents.”
She wanted to help parents out financially and also wanted to braid hair to boost kids’ confidence and self-esteem as they headed back to school in person.
More from People —
“I know how my daughter feels when she gets her hair done,” Starks says. “It boosts her confidence, and it just makes her feel good about herself. She has an awesome day afterward.”
Brittany decided to launch a GoFundMe campaign to help cover the costs for enough hair supplies to serve everyone interested. She asked for $15,000 and to date has raised nearly $42,000. She is now devoting her time to launching a nonprofit she plans to call A Twist of Greatness, which will hold monthly hair-braiding events.
Ellen and Meghan had a surprise for Brittany — Ellen partnered with Tisbest, a charity gift card organization and presented her with a check for $20,000. Meghan then surprised Brittany with a check for $20,000 from her and Harry’s foundation, Archewell. The two thanked Brittany for her hard work and efforts.

At the end of the show, Meghan revealed one last gift for the audience… Ellen’s 12 Days of Giveaways tickets.
Longtime friend and celebrity make-up artist, Daniel Martin, helped perfect Meghan’s beauty look, while hairstylist Jason Low added the finishing touches to her hair along with products from Highbow Hippie.
More from Yahoo News —
“We were backstage the entire time,” Martin told People magazine. “It’s really fun and Ellen really pulled out Meghan’s goofy, funny side, which everyone will be able to finally see.”
Our complete look at what Meghan wore is included in yesterday’s post here. We will recap it below.
For the vendor prank segment, Meghan wore a pink top and skirt with a white long coat.
Her coat is from Anine Bing — ‘Hunter’ coat in white, $699. It is crafted in a wool and cashmere blend fabric.
Meghan’s blouse and skirt are from Stella McCartney. Beginning with the top which is the Eva Long-Sleeve Henley Blouse in hot pink, $595 and the skirt, the Naya silk midi skirt in hot pink, $975.
The tote bag was provided by The Ellen Show containing some props.
Meghan also had on the same hammered disc pendant she was wearing on Veterans Day. We found one from Monica Vinader that is similar however after speaking with them, their Ziggy disc is not as textured as the one Meghan is wearing. We’re now thinking that is may be the Jennifer Meyer hammer disc necklace which was the other one we had found.
We show the image of Meghan wearing the necklace on Veterans Day below, left and the Jennifer Meyer Hammered Disc Pendant necklace, $875, right.
Below is a recap of her outfit that she wore on the show. Meghan wore an Oscar de la Renta blouse (shown below).
Her black trousers appear to be a cuffed ankle jogger style. She had on a black belt with a gold buckle. None of these items have been identified yet.
The Duchess wore a black belt with a gold buckle which we have not yet identified. We have a few ideas but we will need to do some more searching. We’re thinking it might be from Gucci with possibly their tiger head or similar.
We think her shoes are the Gianvito Rossi black 105 satin pumps, $695, she wore back in September for Global Citizen Festival in NYC.
Meghan had on a gold pinky ring which we were not able to clearly see. At one point we thought maybe it was her Karen Walker ring from the Australia tour.
Another thought is that the ring is from Mateo – 14kt Gold Zodiac Coin Ring, $2,050, as she recently wore another piece from the jeweler.
Meghan also had on her staple pieces – Princess Diana’s Cartier Tank watch in 18k gold, the Cartier ‘Love’ bracelet and Jennifer Meyer 18k gold bezel tennis bracelet ($3000).
For those interested, Archie’s rain boots are the Hunter Peppa Pig style, $70.

ID UPDATE! We have an ID update on the bypass bar earrings Meghan wore to the World Health Organization in New York back in September.
We were originally thinking they might possibly be from Adina Reyter, however the brand confirmed with us that they are not from their collection.
After some searching, we think the Duchess wore this pair by New York-based jeweler Mateo — The Mini Diamond Bar bypass studs in 14k gold, $325. You may recall she wore the jeweler’s Eye of Protection bracelet during her NYC visit last week for the DealBook event. They are also available at Amazon here.

I had some hearty belly laughs watching those clips! Meghan did such a great job with the lines Ellen was giving her, and the vendors were such good sports in their dedication to pretending Meghan’s behaviour was totally normal. I wonder if the crystal vendor was able to sell all those items, “touched by the Duchess of Sussex”!
I really like Meghan’s white blouse, and the colour-blocking effect that’s created when her hair is down and she pairs white tops with dark trousers. However, I’m not a fan of jogger-style trousers at all; I know they are certainly having a moment with our WFH reality, but to me the style doesn’t look any more polished just because the material is higher quality. I like the pink and white combination for the prank and agree with a previous commenter that tying a bow at the back of the coat is a clever way to avoid dangling ties when the coat is left open. Major props to Meghan for being able to squat in those heels!

I was okay with the interview but I was really uncomfortable with the pranks. With COVID-19 and everything and knowing many local sellers, I would not just let anyone (much less a royal) touch something for as long as she did the crystal without any intent on paying. It made me super uncomfortable for the seller (you cannot just disinfect crystals. Ewww.) I do love the outfit they gave her for the pranks but germs! Sanitation! Please support local sellers if you try something and like it.

Hi Kate, Her outfit I was her own. The only thing provided by The Ellen Show was the tote bag with the props. Everything took place on the Warner Bros. lot. We don’t know if the sellers were compensated or not for anything by the show. They were sitting in the audience for the show. Not really sure how that all works. – SC

I had already commented previously that I liked the blouse. I do also like the cuffed pants, but not with the blouse. Too much volume top and bottom. I prefer the look of volume on top, fitted on the bottom, or vice versa. I did not like the high waist on the pants.. I know that it is in style right now, but it does not suit her body type and made her look unnecessarily bulky. As well, I don’t like the stilettos with that outfit.. all the fabric would be better balanced with a chunkier heel shoe or boot.
As for the second outfit, I give it a thumbs down. The pink blouse and skirt looked shapeless and the white coat looked like an afterthought. Again, the slender shoes looked off balance with all the volume on top, the black tote seemed heavy against the airy silk skirt/blouse and the white coat. It looked like random pieces put together without any cohesion.
I think that Meghan has to be careful about wearing certain outfits just because they are high end designer., even when they don’t suit her.(I have made the same mistake myself). She should wear the clothes rather than have the clothes wear her. Some of her best looks in the past have been slimmer, more simple styles., often more moderately priced. ( I used to try to mirror some of those looks myself ) She is very pretty, but is not tall and is short waisted, so needs to look for tailored clothes that work with her body type, rather than against it.

While I didn’t watch the show, I did enjoy this fantastic recap of Meghan’s outfits during her appearance!
I quite like the jogger style pants. I feel like they help add an element of interest to a classic wardrobe staple. As I said on the earlier post, I personally am not a fan of blouse, especially given how expensive it is.
The pink Stella McCartney ensemble is gorgeous. I love the bright color. Meghan looks wonderful in bright colors. The white Annie Bing coat is wonderful as well. I like how Meghan styled it with the rope bow in the back which allowed us to see the fantastic outfit underneath. I’m going to keep this in mind for when it’s cold enough that I need to wear a coat but it’s not so chilly that I need to be all buttoned up. The combination of the the pink and white is cheerful and fun.
Meghan’s hair and makeup are very pretty as well. She seems happy and confident.

I didn’t realize the trousers were cuffed. Thought they were just a slim ankle style. Like the look less now seeing they were cuffed. Some of the skit had me literally loling. Eating the chips like a chipmunk especially funny. I wonder if the Queen will see this, lol?
WhatMeghanWore says
Hi K – Yes, it appeared a first that the trousers were cinched at the ankle or had drawstrings, but it looks like they have a cuff similar to a jogger style. It’s hard to see. I’m sure if we had access to hi-res images it would show up better. It was hard to tell on a hi-def screen even. – SC

Not much to comment on regarding what she wore for the prank segment because I was laughing so much I didn’t much notice. Meghan is a good sport and played her part perfectly. I mean, the woman ate chips like a chipmunk and did these funny things without an ounce of embarrassment or being unsure of herself. A complete 180 from where she was mentally just two years ago.
