**Scroll down for updates – 20 October
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex were captured in a stunning new portrait – their first since they stepped down as senior members of the Royal Family earlier this year.
In the black and white shot, Harry looks at the camera as he sits behind Meghan, who is seemingly mid-laughter. The portrait was shot inside their Santa Barbara home.
The Duchess let her long hair down in wavy curls and donned a black blazer and black trousers that we’re thinking might be her Alexander McQueen with a white t-shirt. She first wore the McQueen pieces back in 2018 for the Endeavour Awards. Present also was Diana’s Cartier watch, a staple on Meghan’s wrist as of late, continually a touching tribute to her late mother-in-law.
And, in another sentimental touch, eagle-eyed Royal Watchers noticed the striking similarities between this new portrait and a portrait of the Sussexes from their wedding day, once again in black and white with the Duke looking directly at the camera as the Duchess looks off camera, resting her arm on his leg. Whether intentional or not – it is such a sweet memory.

The portrait was shot as a promo for Harry and Meghan’s upcoming TIME100 talk, part of a series of virtual conversations TIME is hosting that brings together leaders from different disciplines to spotlight solutions to common problems and encourage action. The discussion, entitled “Engineering a Better World,” is set to bring together “experts, advocates, online creators, and journalists to discuss the pursuit of a more compassionate, safe, and trustworthy digital world” — a key component of the couple’s nonprofit Archewell, according to TIME. The event will take place on Tuesday, October 20 at 1 p.m. EST.
In addition to giving opening and closing remarks, the pair will lead conversations with some of their guests as well as be interviewed themselves by TIME editor-in-chief and CEO Edward Felsenthal about creating safe and healthy online communities.
The TIME event is free and open to call. Click here to register.
The What Meghan Wore Fashion Recap —
UPDATE 20 October: Upon closer inspection of the jacket Meghan is wearing in the Time100 portrait, we see that the pocket of the jacket is slightly different from that of the McQueen jacket she wore in 2018. We will continue to look for the piece and update the post.
Meghan may have had on her Alexander McQueen suit that she wore for the 2018 Endeavour Awards. The Leaf Crepe Single Fitted Jacket, $1995 is still available here, here and here. The matching Leaf Crepe Cigarette Trousers in black, $795, are still available here and here.
Meghan also had on a white t-shirt which we’re thinking might be from James Perse. It is a crewneck slub-style. We couldn’t find a short sleeve version of the tee however, this long sleeve version from Jame’s Perse, $95, is a close match to the one she is wearing.
Meghan also wore her her Cartier ‘Love’ bangle bracelet in gold and her Monica Vinader Linear Friendship Bracelet in gold, $175 as well as Princess Diana’s Cartier Francaise Tank watch in gold. See our previous posts for more information on these pieces here.
UPDATE 20 October: Meghan’s ring is reported to be by jewelry designer Lorraine Schwartz. According to PageSix, the news outlet was told that the designer fashioned the ring from a diamond gift the couple received from the Middle East.
Apparently there are also diamond earrings that were made from the same set. We’re wondering if this was the emerald cut pair we first saw on the Duchess in June 2019 for Trooping the Colour.
We also spotted a ring on Meghan’s right pinky. The ring appears to be a small emerald cut stone. This could be a new ring. As the photos are in black and white, it’s hard to tell. We’ll update the post should we find out more information.
For those asking, this ring is not the same one she wore to the couple’s wedding reception in 2018. That ring was the large aquamarine one which previously belonged to Princess Diana.
We’ll continue to update the post with any information that pops up regarding pieces she wore.

So happy to see that beautiful McQueen suit again. I’m amazed you were able to identify the shirt with such limited visibility! You mention that she is wearing the Monica Vinader bracelet but to me it looks like she is just wearing the bangle?

Hi Larissa, I spotted part of the Monica Vinader peeking out from under the watch. Those seem to be her go-to pieces these days. Also – We’re thinking that she is wearing a James Perse shirt as she favorites the brand. I can see it’s a slub tee and looking closely at the band around the collar led me to look at a few different brands. James Perse seems to be the closest match thus far. If you saw the update, we’re now rethinking the jacket she wore. It doesn’t match the McQueen one she wore in 2018 at the pockets. We’re still looking. Thanks! Susan C.

I loved their engagement photo.. it looked so natural and the gown and the big smiles and the beautiful grounds of Frogmore make it one of my favorites to this day.

Stunning portraits! I noticed the similarity to their iconic wedding shot on the steps. It certainly evokes closeness and ease. They have a wonderful partnership and you can see it in their body language.
As for what Meghan is wearing, it’s a gorgeous ensemble. Sharp, professional and chic.
