We’re back today with our third and final installment on all things skin, hair and beauty. We’re back today with another installment in our series about Meghan’s beauty, skin and hair care routines. As with our Royal Beauty Regimen post, as well as the one on Meghan’s Skincare Tips, today’s piece is also written by WMW Contributing Writer Brooke Nurthen.
Today we’re taking a look at tips, tricks and products Meghan has recommended for hair, plus some bonus bits and pieces. With locks like hers, I’m sure I’m not the only one after the products with Meghan’s (soon to be royal) seal of approval.
Meghan told Beautybanter about two of her favorite haircare brands —
There are two lines I use religiously: Kerastase (masquintense & the oleo relax line) and Wella, which has a hair oil that I am obsessed with. It smells like vacation and makes your hair slippery and touchable. I love this stuff! It also doubles as a pretty amazing body oil post bath.” — Meghan Markle, Beautybanter, 2015
Kérastase’s Masquintense is available in two varieties: for thick hair and for fine hair. Unfortunately, much of the Oleo Relax line has been discontinued, but you can still pick up the serum, Kérastase Nutritive Sérum Oléo-Relax, a “Smoothing oil for taming frizzy hair, providing long-lasting frizz control.”
With years of perfect on-screen hair and red carpet appearances, we imagine Meghan’s picked up more than a few tricks from hair stylists. She gave this one to Birchbox —
For my flyaways, I spray hairspray on a small boar bristle toothbrush (a regular toothbrush also works great!) to lightly brush them down or smooth the hairline—this is especially good for a sleek bun when I am off-camera.” – Meghan Markle, Birchbox 2014
Then to Gritty Pretty, she said —
I put deep conditioner in my hair more than you could imagine. And I never let hairdressers tease my hair for volume – it’s not good for it. Use a product instead.”
But which product? I’m glad you asked. Meghan loves luxury haircare brand Oribe’s cult favorite Dry Texturizing Spray, and on-set trick, ‘the hair flip’… she told Birchbox —
There is nothing like a hair flip! When my hair is feeling a little weighted, Suanne, my hair artist on set, has me bend forward and she sprays a little Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray or nothing at all, and then has me ‘flip back hard’ to give my hair a little extra bounce.” — Meghan Markle, Birchbox 2014
Meghan recommended Oribe’s whole line as well.
I use Oribe hair products because they really do give the best protection.” – Meghan Markle, Gritty Pretty 2015
The US-based brand (pronounced ‘or-bay’, believe it or not), has a plethora of high profile fans. I just love this cute snap from Meghan’s Instagram, of her kissing an armful of boxes of the Texturizing Spray – I’m sure we’ve all had a product we feel this way about!
In the October Vanity Fair story, the magazine said products used in that shoot were from the BioSilk line.

Moving on to some extra tidbits we’ve picked up while writing these pieces, we have info on perfumes Meghan has said she enjoys. Like Kate and many others, she is a Jo Malone fan (join the club!).
I love Jo Malone Wood Sage & Sea Salt and Bvlgari Thé Bleu. I’ve been on Oribe’s new fragrance Côte d’Azur, too.” – Meghan Markle, Gritty Pretty 2015
We’ve put together a little breakdown of the notes in each perfume, they each sound divine.
If you love the sound of the Jo Malone perfume, it’s available in two different sizes as shown above, but also in a candle, body/hand wash, and body creme.
For body care products, we have two excellent recommendations. Meghan told Beautybanter in 2015:
I use Dr. Bronner’s Body Wash in Lavender. I love the smell and it lasts for such a long time. The almond scent is quite nice too if your prefer something warm and sweet. I alternate between the two.”
Last but definitely not least, and one that’s accessible for all: Meghan places Nivea’s Skin Firming Hydration Body Lotion in her top 5 beauty buys.
I use this religiously. It’s honestly my favorite lotion on the market, it’s so affordable, and makes my skin look and feel amazing. I would buy a case of this at a time if I could find it.” — Meghan Markle, BeautyBanter 2015
If you’ve not read our post covering the cosmetics and tools Meghan uses, this post has details; for insight on some of the skincare products Meghan has recommended, that information is in this post.

I’m honestly the most interested in her curl-relaxing regimen. Her hair looks so healthy, shiny, and beautifully straight. Us girls with relaxers are super envious!

I’m fascinated to learn she has worked in getting a glossy bun, maybe we’ll see one yet! I was wondering if her hair experience had been largely indoors. Working crowds outdoors for long periods with numberless cameras poking in your face might present a whole new ball game.
Given my own declared enthusiasm for the brand I’m quite wowed at Meghan having discovered that body creme. A new one for me to try!
